  • This Sunday, April 10, is Good Deeds Day at Gesher Jewish Day School (4800 Mattie Moore Court, Fairfax) from 1 to 4 p.m. Volunteer for a project throughout the community here.
  • Also on Sunday: There will also be 7:30 p.m. outdoor screening of “Another Way of Living: The Story of Reston, VA” about community founder, Robert Simon, at the Reston Town Center Pavilion (11900 Market Street). Free.
  • The Reston Regional Library offers the opportunity for students to read to trained therapy dogs for 15 minutes on April 12. Sign up here.
  • From RestonNowFood Truck Thursday has returned to Reston Town Center. The vendors will park at Reston Town Square Park from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. the first Thursday of the month through the summer and early fall.

Microsoft to build “smart city” in Ashburn; Air & Space to host “Kites of Asia” for kids

Via the Washington Business Journal: “Minh Le and his company, 22 Capital Partners, are proposing to build Gramercy District, a 2.5 million-square-foot, $500 million development on 16 acres fronting the north side of the Dulles Greenway, adjacent to the planned Ashburn Metro station on the Silver Line. Le has landed a Fortune 50 partner in Microsoft Corp. as a co-investor that will bring its expertise, its people and its capital to bear.”
