For Photography Fans

A citywide celebration featuring more than 150 exhibitions, programs, and events highlighting the works of local and international photographers. FotoWeekCentral will be located at the National Geographic Museum.

For a Love of His People: The Photography of Horace Poolaw
Nov. 11, 2016–June 4, 2017, at the National Museum of the American Indian
Horace Poolaw, a member of the Kiowa tribe in Oklahoma, was a rare photographer who documented American Indian subjects from an insider’s perspective. His work spans 50 years beginning in the mid-1920s.

For Theater-Goers

The Secret Garden
Nov. 15–Dec. 31, 2016, at the Harmon Center for the Arts
Shakespeare Theatre Company presents this beloved tale by Frances Hodgson Burnett. 10-year-old Mary Lennox loses her parents to cholera in India and must go live with her distant uncle in England where she discovers a mysterious walled garden.

Moby Dick
November 18 – December 24, 2016 at Arena Stage
Melville’s class tale of Captain Ahab vs. the great white whale comes to life with innovative staging including trapeze and acrobatic work.
