Is your backyard or patio in need of a fire pit? If so, you can make it as affordable or expensive as you want. Portable styles are available at many home improvement stores, or you can invest in something made of brick or stone that is built in place. Fire pits aren’t just for the fall either; with summer upon us you can sit out there on a cool night roasting marshmallows or enjoying a fine glass of pinot and good conversation.

Circle of Life — Find an area in your backyard where you can create a circular arrangement with chairs or even curved benches surrounding a low flame fire pit. Drape some blankets and pillows on the benches to add a warm welcoming touch.

Table Top — For a formal flare, consider purchasing a table-top fire pit that is gas operated. Set it up next to a dining set, so you and your guests can enjoy dinner by the fireside. Show stopping and unique from all the other fire pit styles.

Gazebo Getaway — A gas operated fire pit with chairs under the gazebo will allow you to weather a storm while cozied up by the fire. String some lights in the gazebo, bring out the speakers, turn on the fire, pour a glass of wine and enjoy the warmth of the fire as the rain falls around you.

Chiminea — It may have a different shape from the usual fire pit, but it produces the same amount of heat. Still charming and cozy, this is a great alternative to a traditional fire pit, as you can transport and move it to different locations.
