The Fairfax County Police Dept. is offering a 10-week Citizens Police Academy. The academy is designed to give attendees an understanding of the operation of the department and an awareness of the challenges faced by officers. Click here for more information.
The Fairfax County Dept. of Transportation (FCDOT) will host the next community meeting for the Reston Network Analysis from 7 to 9 p.m. May 18 in the South Lakes High School cafeteria (11400 South Lakes Drive). The program will begin with an open house with time to review project materials. Staff will give a presentation on the status of the study and on potential recommendations for the transportation network.
The Reston Community Center (2310 Colts Neck Road) is showcasing the works of art that students and teachers of the center’s arts and crafts programs have created over the past year. A variety of mediums like acrylic, oil, watercolor, oil pastel, Chinese Brush Painting, collage, mosaic, and pencil will be included in the Jo Ann Rose exhibit. All of these works reveal the two-way process of students and teachers exchanging ideas, expanding creativity and having fun. Runs through May 23.
