Moving to Reston is interviewing members of the community who run small businesses that serve the Reston area. In honor of upcoming spring breaks and summer vacations, we spoke with Chad Wallace of Four Spheres Travel.

Moving to Reston: How long have you been working for Four Spheres Travel?

Chad Wallace: I started Four Spheres Travel in October 2012 to help others step out of their day-to-day lives and escape to relaxation or explore new corners of the globe. I truly enjoy traveling, whether it be unwinding on a beach in Mexico, or sampling wines in the Riesling vineyards of Germany, and I love helping others create new and exciting travel memories and experiences for themselves and their families.

“The Internet has certainly revolutionized the ability to plan travel on your own. But as I always like to say, with great choice comes great confusion. For example, a Google search for “Europe Vacation Ideas” yields more than 37 million results! My job is to make ALL aspects of the vacation fun: the planning and the trip itself.”

Moving to Reston: What value do you add to planning a trip when so much of it can be done online? In what areas do you specialize?

Chad Wallace: The Internet has certainly revolutionized the ability to plan travel on your own. But as I always like to say, with great choice comes great confusion. For example, a Google search for “Europe Vacation Ideas” yields more than 37 million results! My job is to make ALL aspects of the vacation fun: the planning and the trip itself. When I plan client vacations, I always use the word “we,” such as “when we land in London” or “next, we’ll be taking the train to Paris.” I do this because, as a boutique travel agency, I’m firmly invested in my clients’ plans as if I’m going on the trip as well.

I’m also my clients’ advocate before, during and after their trip. If something goes wrong with your flights in Athens, you don’t need to burn expensive international roaming minutes on your cell phone sorting it out because I’m on the phone back in the States fixing it for you.

I specialize in vacations to Europe, as well as all-inclusive vacations to the Caribbean and Mexico. They’re the two types of vacations that I personally enjoy: relaxing in the sun, and historic and architectural discovery.

Moving to Reston: If there’s one thing everyone should know about Four Spheres Travel, it is . . . ?

Chad Wallace: I’m a lawyer by trade (people tend to be surprised by that, but I promise I’m the fun lawyer!), and I apply my lawyer-ly research skills to find the best value options for my clients. Value doesn’t just mean the bottom line price, it also means the amenities that come with having a travel professional on your side to give you the best vacation for the least hassle. That’s why I say Four Spheres Travel is your agent of specialized simplicity.

FST delivers complimentary travel planning services with the flexibility, hospitality and personalized attention only a boutique travel agency can provide. We specialize in all-inclusive vacations to the Caribbean and Mexico, as well as tours and customized vacations to Europe. For more information about Four Spheres Travel, click here
