The Boro is coming, Kendra Scott launch party and a hospital tour

The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors last Tuesday unanimously approved The Boro, a 4.2 million-square-foot development by the Greensboro Metro station that will feature the region’s largest Whole Foods, a six-story Showplace Icon multiplex, multiple multifamily and office buildings and a couple of parks.

Metro’s Office of Planning has been exploring why certain station areas and rail segments have seen ridership gains during the downturn, while other station areas and segments have seen losses.

Reston Town Center newbie Kendra Scott is hosting a launch party today and benefit for its 2016 spring collection. A portion of in-store and online sales made today will be donated to the National Art Education Association to support the development of the NAEA Art Educator Scholarship Fund (launching spring 2016), enabling art educators to participate in professional development programs, fostering leadership skills, encouraging innovation and improving effectiveness.

A drawing for a $100 gift certificate for art supplies will also be held. Everyone in attendance will receive one raffle ticket upon arrival. Additional tickets can be earned for every $100 made in purchases. Light refreshments will be served.

Today, expecting parents can get a tour of the Labor & Delivery and Post-Partum units, along with an information session. The operating room is not a standard part of the tour.
